Jared’s 30th
This is almost a month late, but still a day worth mentioning! We celebrated Jared’s 30th birthday by kayaking in Huntington Beach Harbor. We joined a holiday lights tour that took us on the water at night and wound us through the harbor while looking at the many extravagant homes decorated for the holidays. It was so much fun to do something so different. It was a cooler day, at night, on the water where we did get pretty wet, so we bundled up in our winter attire (and I’m glad I did!), and drank hot chocolate. After a change of clothes we had dinner at a restaurant in downtown Fullerton.
On the evening of Jared’s actual birthday some of his classmates threw him and another friend a surprise party. We had a fun evening out thanks to our wonderful babysitter
Happy birthday babe! I love you!

5 month update
We are 2 weeks past Elliot’s 5 month update, but there is so much to share I couldn’t skip it! Elliot is growing and changing so much!
Elliot has lengthened out a bit and seems to have slimmed down. Although, his cheeks have stayed intact! He is reaching for and grabbing at e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g! He has found his voice….and screams for the pure joy of hearing himself. This new and delightful habit comes in a wide array of sounds, from high pitched singing to flat out screaming….he will then smile at his accomplishments while Jared and I sit startled. The biggest change came a few weeks ago when we stopped swaddling Elliot for naps and bedtime. He is doing great and sleeps the whole night un-swaddled! Love it! Elliot has also sat in his first restaurant highchair and is sitting in the seat of his stroller, no longer in the car seat. Elliot's personality is really starting to show. He is a watcher and thinker and doesn’t give out smiles freely. My baby is growing so fast!
Elliot loves reading books. He makes ooohh sounds when I turn the pages
Elliot and Elsie have begun to bond! Elliot still likes Elsie a little more than she likes him. He is currently learning how to “pet nicely”.
giving thanks
For Thanksgiving this year we received wonderful visitors, my parents! It was nice having them. We didn’t do a lot while they were here. We did some shopping, eating, and relaxing! Before enjoying our Thanksgiving meal we all did a 5k turkey trot in Dana Point. Jared and I ran while my parents walked with Elliot. This was my first post pregnancy run…hopefully it’s the jump start I need to get back into running. We ate in for Thanksgiving this year and had chicken instead of turkey (for those who don’t know, I haven’t eaten meat in 2 months). The chicken was from Whole Foods and we did a little research before purchasing it and it was delicious! Thanks for coming out for a visit…we will see you again in a few weeks!
