Becky and Casey
It was nice to have friends come for a visit. We had a relaxing visit with Becky and Casey. They came into town last Wednesday.
Wednesday:
We hung out at the apartment waiting for Jared to be done with class for the day. Wanting to get some sun and take advantage of the beautiful California weather we headed down to the pool. Unfortunately, the pool's electrical connections were being worked on...so...we couldn't get in the pool. We ended up staying and catching some rays anyway. That evening Adam joined us and we watched the K-State game. To boost our spirits after watching a bad game we hit Yogurtland!
Thursday:
Happy Birthday Becky! To celebrate Becky's 27th birthday we took it easy during the day. Becky Casey and I (Jared work at the library) went to down town Fullerton where we ate dinner and enjoyed birthday drinks! We went back to the apartment where Jared joined in the celebration.

Friday:
Finally the pool is open! We sent the afternoon swimming and relaxing. Becky, Jared, and Casey were pros at penny diving. If I remember correctly, Becky won each time! That evening we went to a fun Italian restaurant.
Saturday:
Beach day! We got up and around and headed to Huntington Beach. We picked up Adam and set up camp. While Becky and I laid around, Casey, Adam, and Jared played catch in the freezing water! When we packed up we headed to Sharkies where we ate lunch. We also did some shopping on Main Street. We took it easy that evening.

Sunday:
Full from a pancake breakfast we went to Disneyland! Jared and I bought season passes, while Becky and Casey purchased park hopper tickets. We started our adventures at Disneyland Adventure. This park is smaller than Disneyland and contains more rides. My two favorite rides were Toy Story and Tower of Terror. Toy story was 3-D ride where we competed with the person sitting next to you at arcade games. Jared won :-( After we rode everything we wanted we headed to Disneyland. We had a lot of fun!

White Coat Ceremony
Tuesday night The SCCO class of 2012 received their "White Coats". The president spoke to the class and audience. Students were then called one at a time to receive their coats. Doesn't he look good?! He already looks like a doctor! I am so proud of you Jar!

I got my white coat too!
Jared and some friends.

Trip to KC
I went home Friday night (September 12th) and was greeted by my parents at the airport. My mom and I enjoyed catching up on Monk and Psych episodes...I love those shows!
Saturday:
I started my visit by taking the Praxis II English to Speakers of Other Languages test (one reason I came into town). I will find out whether I passed the test in 4-6 weeks. Although, I know I didn't do well, I am anxious to get the results back. I think I am most anxious because if I didn't pass I am ready to enroll in a course that will help me.
Once the test was over my mom, sister, and I went shopping. I then had an enjoyable visit with my in-laws. It was good to see them!
The most enjoyable moment of the day came during dinner (another reason I came to town)...we ate at Sol Azteca! I have been craving good Midwest Mexican food since we moved to California! After a wonderful bean and cheese burrito I was joined by Erin A., Erin R., Megan, Becky, Casey, Amy, Paul, and Baker for some drinks at the Blue Moose. We spent the evening getting caught up! I miss you guys! I had a lot of fun reminiscing!
Sunday:
Once I resolved my car situation (I forgot I didn't have one to drive around freely) I met up with Karen and Meghan from work. We had lunch and spent time talking! I then went to my aunts house for a family gathering. We ate, talked, and got Grandma to hula-hoop!
Monday:
I spent Monday at Indian Valley visiting the teachers and students! Boy have those 5th graders gotten taller! I was able to each lunch with them and get caught up with them. Being at school really made me miss it! I miss you Karen and Meghan!
I had a great trip, but look forward to when I can come in town for a longer period of time, so I can visit with friends and family longer!

Outdoor Lounge
Now that Jared and I have a deck in a state whose weather promotes outside relaxing, we had no choice but to decorate! We spent a Friday evening purchasing our materials and Saturday putting them together. Our next task is to put up an umbrella (we borrowed from Adam...thank you Adam) because our deck gets hit with sun all day long. Come and enjoy with us!
