We recently celebrated Jared’s 31st. It was a month long celebration with little notes or gifts, mailed or emailed, from friends and family. Thank you so much to everyone who sent something! Jared loved it and felt very special! His actual birthday was spent relaxing. Jared slept in, requested breakfast, and sat on the couch watching football. We did venture out to play at the park with Elliot. We also went to dinner and a movie…see relaxing :) Happy Birthday babe! We love you! (Due to the little amount of activity few pictures were take.)

I went on a little trip
I recently flew to L.A. While I was there my wonderful mother-in-law came and played with Elliot while Jared was at work during the day. I flew in late Monday night, and flew out early (6 am early) Wednesday morning. I watched Mario Lopez host “Extra”. Ate a delicious lunch. AND attended one of Ellen’s 12 Days of Christmas! I am so thankful for this opportunity and it came very unexpectedly. A couple of months ago I received a call stating that I would be receiving a ticket to one of her Christmas tapings because one of the products I was gifted at her Mother’s Day show (2 years ago) was never received (the company went out of business). I was day 5 of her giveaway….click here to see the goodies!

Thanksgiving
Because we are only 7 hours south of KC, we were able to go home for Thanksgiving this year. We got to spend time with family and friends. Jared didn’t get to relax because he took his final round of boards the Wednesday after Thanksgiving.
We started the day with a family 5k,
Took a family photo (courtesy of my photo skills ),
Hung out with family,
And played some games!
Elliot and I got to stay for a week while Jared left to go take his test. While there I got to visit with my Grandparents,
And hang out with these pretty ladies!
Elliot got to really play in the leaves for the first time….can you tell how much he loved it! He cried when it was time to come in…

Turning 31
That’s right. I’m old. As Jared keeps, ever so kindly, reminding me I am now closer to forty than twenty. Yuck. On the brighter side….I don’t feel my age and look much younger than I am…so eat it 31! There has been a lot going on with us the past couple of weeks. First, we moved out of our apartment on a Sunday so our sub-letters could move in. We became temporarily homeless for a few days and stayed in an empty apartment of friends whose lease wasn’t up yet. Moved into our new two bedroom apartment on a Wednesday. And finally, loaded the car and headed for Lawton the following Thursday. My birthday fell on one of our homeless days, so it was a lot of fun! We ate at the Original Pancake House for breakfast, went to Knott’s Berry Farm, had dinner at Bucca Di Beppo, and saw a movie. Phew, busy day. We had a lot of fun. Thanks Jared and Elliot; it was wonderful!
Elliot and his energy
Elliot is a true boy. He is crazy full of energy and seems to find that the best way to expel it is to run around screaming. No joke. He is always trying to test our boundaries. His new favorite word is “no”. Not in his cute sweet little baby voice, but a nasty naughty one with furrowed brows. In the morning he is scolding someone in his crib because “No” is what he continually says, it’s too funny! Elliot has been very lovey lately giving hugs and getting upset when either Jared or I leave the house. He is still a book, car, and ball guy, but has fallen in love with Mickey Mouse “mi mou”. Elliot is working on 4 new teeth, his top canines have made an appearance.
L.A. Fashion District
I went to the fashion district not long before we left with some girlfriends. We wandered the streets snatching up one amazing deal after another ($1-2/yrd fabric).
Beach Bonfire
One of the many things I still had on my California to do list was checked off…beach bon fire! We went with Angie and Neal, Alexa and Cris, and were suppose to be joined by a few others who couldn’t make it. Hot dogs were roasted and smores consumed. It was a fun evening.
We made it
We made it with all the thanks going to Mickey Mouse and the portable DVD player. Thank you…we owe you one!
5 states and 2 hotels later we made it to Lawton, Oklahoma.
