Family Fun

After Ruidoso we were joined here in Santa Fe by Jared’s parents, brother Jason, wife Courtney, and their little man Solomon.  A lot of playing was had.  We played inside with toys, outside at the park, and at the dinner table Smile.  Elliot shared his room with Solomon during their visit.  Both boys did really well!  It was cute listening to them on the baby monitor…Elliot would be squealing or chattering and you could hear Solomon say one of two things “stop it Elliot” or “Your funny Elliot”.

Jared is making Elliot laugh in this pic, but notice Solomon cracking up in the background.  Uncle Jared is too funny!

Ruidoso, NM

For 4th of July weekend we met Jared’s parents in Ruidoso.  On the first day we packed ourselves in the car and went to White Sands National Monument. The sand dunes stretched as far as you could see with the mountains as a back drop.  It was amazing how fine and white the sand was.  Elliot was in heaven, playing with, throwing, and eating the sand.  Tears were shed when we had to leave. From there we went to The Lodge at Cloudcroft.  It is in a mountain town, celebrating 100 years and had a beautiful view over looking White Sands.  The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing and eating.  Unfortunately, due to the fact that New Mexico is on fire there weren’t any fireworks in many of the cities Sad smile  Nevertheless, we had a great fourth of July!

Grandma and Grandpa B Visit

My parents just recently came for a visit.  In addition to celebrating Elliot’s birthday we did many things.  We did the usual and visited the Farmer’s Market and Downtown.  We also went to Spence Springs.  Turns out these “hot” springs aren’t very hot.  They were man made and the water was barley warm.  Elliot went skinny dipping for the first time and seemed to enjoy it!

We ate breakfast and listen to music at the Farmer’s Market

We visited the Santa Fe Brewing Company.  It was surprising how small the facilities were given that they distribute to several states.  We toured and sampled…yum.

After the tour we enjoyed sitting outside and finishing our samples.  One of the other externs, Drew, joined us.

For Father’s Day we drove north to Taos.  We ate, shopped, and saw the Rio Grande Bridge.  It is 650 ft. above the river and is the 5th highest bridge in the U.S.

Aunt Jenny & Uncle Josh

Our first visitor of the summer  was Jared’s sister Jenny and her hubby Josh; aka “aunt Jenny and Uncle Josh”.  Elliot took to them right away and had a lot of fun.  The first day of their visit we went to the farmer’s market and downtown Santa Fe.

We also drove to Bandelier National Monument where we saw and climbed among old Indian ruins. At one point we climbed over 200 ft up 4 vertical ladders, with Elliot on Jared’s back…scary.

With Jared at work a couple of the days of their visit, there was some down time spent hanging out at home and playing with Elliot. We had a lot of fun visiting with you guys!  Thank you for coming!
