baby free night

With only a week left on our Disneyland passes, Jared and I finally made it to World of Color and Disneyland Adventure.  It’s about time. I am really glad we made time to go because it. was. amazing! World of Color uses lights and water.  Images are projected onto walls of water. **the picture and video quality is poor because they were taken with cell phones

4 month stats

Elliot had his 4 month appointment this past Friday. He is a happy (very) healthy baby! The doc said we could start him on baby food when we feel he is ready or needs it. (some babies eat frequently and don’t seem to be satisfied). We are going to hold off awhile because E seems to be doing just fine. E has hit a few developmental milestones: he has great neck/head control, he is grabbing and holding toys, he tracks people and objects.

Weight: 16lbs 14 oz                                                                                     Height: 24 in

Overall, Elliot is a happy little boy! He smiles a lot and is starting to share his smiles with others (if your lucky). He has begun laughing a ton and it doesn’t take much to get him going…a kiss on the belly, a funny face, silly sound, or daddy holding him high in the air. E is also sleeping pretty well (I almost don’t want to say for fear of jinxing us!), but 4 out of the 7 days this past week he slept 12 hours straight! We have begun weaning him from night time feedings, so if he does wake in the middle of the night, all it takes is his pacifier and good night wishes and he falls back into slumber land :) He is also going down for naps and bed really well. I think he finally gets the routine and expectations…he rarely cries and seems to be asleep within minutes!  I’m loving it! Elliot is in a fun stage. He is curious about everything. His current fascination are trees.  Whenever we are outside his head is tilted to the sky and he stares at the leaves.  He also love, love, loves (maybe its me who love, love, loves) his new jumperoo! He jumps, sways, plays, smiles, and sometimes watches tv in him jumperoo!

It just doesn’t seem possible, but each day we love this little man more and more!

Newborn pics

When Elliot was a few days past 3 weeks a friend of ours, Aubrey, took his newborn pictures!  I was hoping Elliot would sleep through the shoot so we could position him in cute baby poses, but someone (E) had is own ideas.  He was awake, fussy, and pooin’ and peein’ everywhere! With that being said, Aubrey was able to capture some great moments!  Thank you Aubrey!Elliot 192-2 Elliot 041-2 Elliot 091-2  Elliot 113-2 Elliot 181Elliot 098

This wasn’t one of the photos Aubrey edited, but I love it! It captures Elliot’s personality :)

Disneyland!

Elliot made his first trip to Disneyland this past Friday, sportin’ his Mickey outfit.  We hit a few rides, and saw Mickey Mouse!  Elliot seemed to enjoy people watching.  Not sure if he loved the rides, but we only got one short cry during the Pinocchio ride…it was a little overwhelming.  We hope to go back again before our passes expire.

school and E

*September 24th Elliot got his 1st cold. So sad. He is congested and coughing. I siphon snot from him hourly!

*12 stations is over! Almost. We have heard about 12 stations for forever. 12 stations is a clinical exam that tests the students skills of everything they have learned thus far.  They have to get a 75% to pass a station and are only allowed 1 retake. If they don’t pass, then they have to retake the class which holds them back a year.  Well…drum roll….Jared did well!  He passed 11 of the 12 stations! It is common for students to fail at least one, and usually more. Way to go Jared!

*We have picked our 4th year rotation spots!  Exciting, I know! Picks were a semi-complicated process that started this summer.  A computer randomly assigns a number to each member in the class. Jared received 55.  What this number meant was that Jared would be the 55th person in his class of 100 to pick his profile numbers. A profile number is a set of numbers, one for each quarter. When Jared’s turn came he picked: 17, scco, 71, and 31. This meant that for the 1st quarter Jared was pick 17 for a rotation site in the summer, at the school in the fall, pick 71 in the winter, and 31 in the spring.  Here is where we are going (Keep in mind we were limited on the 71 pick (only 7 people picked after him…the  remaining 22  people were pre-assigned to the school)):

Summer: Santa Fe, New Mexico                                                                 Fall: Scco (the school clinic)                                                                         Winter: Lawton, Oklahoma (only 7 hours from home!)                       Spring: VAOC (here in Orange County)

Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment!
