Loves himself

Jared just recently went on a trip, so Elliot and I made a video on my phone and sent it to him.  I them let Elliot watch the video he made and recorded his reactions.  He loves himself! (My voice you will be hearing in from the phone video.)

8 Months!

My little booger is growing up fast! He is moving more and more every day.  Nothing gets done around here because Elliot is moving and going for everything he is not suppose to (Elsie’s toys, and items on our book shelf). And is starting (I believe) to understand what I tell him to do or not do.  His new favorite game is crawling to the stereo, having me tell him “no”, looking at me and smiling, and then continuing to try and touch it OR crawl away and then as fast as he can crawl back to it!

We have been using some sign language with him for several months.  He knows what all the signs mean, and even has his own version of two of them (‘all done’ and ‘nurse’). Elliot is currently trying to learn to wave (nothing yet), clap (doesn’t do it, but loves when I clap), and give kisses (he has given a few!).  He is also in the process of getting his two front top teeth….this has seriously disrupted all of the sleep in our house.

He is starting to love music and likes it when I sing (only God knows why).  His favorite toys right now are little plastic balls that he can bang on things, and his music playing turtle!

Oh! and a big change!  He is wearing cloth diapers!  We haven’t used a disposable in 3 days!  He seems to not mind them and I quote Jared in saying, “these are actually easier than disposables”.  So both my men are on board!  If any of you mamas have questions or want to know more about cloth diapering email me or call, we can chat Smile

A lot has changed

Since my last posting a lot has changed with Mr. E.

He is working on picking up food with his pinchers (not the whole hand).  And working on holding AND using his sippy cup correctly.

He had his first eye appointment.  Daddy looked at his healthy optic nerve.  Elliot did really well.  He was dilated for this appointment, so had to wear sunglasses when we left.  He remained dilated ALL day long.021015019

He rode in his first laundry basket.  This was fun.  And pretended he was daddy.027028IMG_6837

He enjoys the mirror and Himself!036

And has started taking a bath in the “big boy” bath tub (aka our shower).  He splashes SO much that the person giving the bath essentially takes one with him (which is usually daddy). Smile

He climbs (or scoots) over things.053

He thinks his momma is hot!062

He attended his first birthday party.  It was a princess party for a friend turning 3, so Elliot went as a prince! Isn’t he handsome?

Sadly, he has my t.v. habits.  This is my bad mommy moment…I put him in front of the t.v. (Olivia, one of my favorites, was on) so I could pick up the apartment before bed time Smile.

He moves!

We have a mover!  This started a few days ago, but really picked up today.  Watch as my little caterpillar inches his way from sock, to “puff”,  to my hand with a few rests in between.  This video is lengthy but worth the time because he is too stinkin’ cute!

Calling All Angels

There isn’t much I can say, except watch this video.  This is how my friends Angie and Neal are turning a tragic time in their life into a positive one for others.

I know many of you who read my blog don’t sew or craft, so consider buying a blanket for the cause.  Please pass this on and ask others you know to make or donate a blanket.

Fun Shopping

I am not in the position to buy  a lot, if anything right now, so I am always looking out for great deals.  I am mainly shopping for my little man these days…toys, clothes, items to help me with him, etc.  So…I have recently joined a few sites.  These are the type that you join and browse daily, weekly, whenever.  They are not the deal a day, send you an email kind…However, their offers do only last a day, 2 days, or sometimes a week.  I am posting a link to the ones that I have recently found and LOVE!  Some of the sites offer more than just kid/baby deals, but household, clothing, etc. It is fun to get an item you really want at a super marked down price!  I hope some of you find these sites as fun as I do.  Remember, you will have to join to view their products, but it’s worth it!

Includes many items, not just baby…

The Foundary  (todays baby deal are carriers…really cool Kelty backpacks (wish I had) and other daily carriers)

The Gilt

Kid/baby sites

LilLuxe  (one deal today is cloth diapers, shoes, etc…)

The MiniSocial (Lots of clothing, accessory, and book deals)

7 months already?!

Elliot is changing and growing so fast.  I missed his 6 month post, so I have a lot of updating to do.

Over Christmas Elliot got his two front bottom teeth.  He is sitting up really well and is finally rolling!  He can roll from back to stomach and stomach to back.  He seems to like this new mobility.  He isn’t crawling yet, but has that look that says he’s ready to move.  He has started using my hands and legs as platforms and pushes off of them to scoot across the floor.  Elliot’s new toy fascination are balls. He likes it when you roll them to him.  He has also started attaching to a bunny and blankey when he sleeps.  Its cute…we will watch him on the monitor reach for both items and pull them over his face.  Elliot’s personality is really starting to come through.  He is such a happy guy and a big flirt (he does this head turn and big smile when he is engaging with someone).  He has started talking a bit more (babababa, bobobob, momomom (love this one)).  He also went through (and my fingers are crossed it’s over) a week long phase of screaming.  He wasn’t in pain, or upset, he just screamed, screeched, and squealed.  It was loud!

Our days have finally taken on a more routine schedule.  Elliot seems to be down to 2 naps.  Both of which vary in length from 45min – 2hours.  This is a huge change from those 3-4 30 min. naps.  He is also down to only nursing 4 times a day (yeah!) and eating solids twice a day.  We went though a phase where he refused to eat any type of cereal, mixed with other foods or not, but have finally gotten over that dislike.  He has cereal (disguised with fruit) in the morning and a veggie and fruit in the afternoon.  This past month Elliot and I have been doing a gymboree class (thanks to Groupons).  Classes are 45 min daily and we can go as often as we would like.  This has been fun because he is interacting with other babies, we sing, dance, and do activities which are helping him learn.

Elliot is interacting with us more, he plays with his toys, he loves the T.V. (which has forced us to turn it off more often), he is very interested in Elsie and watching her at all times.  Elliot has a beautiful smile and laughs a lot.

Last doctor’s visit (6 months)

Weight: 16lbs 4oz (Elliot lost weight, but no concern)

Height: 25 3/4 in.

Love this guy too much.

I love, love, love this picture.  We did not pose him, he put himself this way!  Love the serious face too!040042011034003015016021035

Forgotten fun!

I forgot to include these in with the Christmas photo montage…

My grandma recently moved to a retirement home, so while everyone was in town over Christmas she had a party to show off her new pad.  We played a fun game (LRC), ate, drank, and were merry! We also bid adieu to my cousin David who was (but is now there) moving to Denver, CO.
